Biography

Olga Polichtchouk · Saint Petersburg, 1961 · Based in Milan since 1991

Olga Polichtchouk lives and works in Italy, sharing her artistic affection with Saint Petersburg, her hometown. As a student, she worked as an illustrator for several important Saint Petersburg periodicals.

In 1986 she graduated from the Mukhina Academy of Art & Design, Faculty of Industrial Art. That same year she began working as a designer, developing prototypes of automatic systems and caring for aesthetics and ergonomics. From that experience she retains an architectural approach to composition: the interplay between empty and filled spaces, the weight of a diagonal, the precise function of light.

In 1991 she moved to Italy and held her first solo exhibition in Milan. She collaborated for many years with Delta 2 Architecture Studio. She teaches at the Accademia Tempo Libero of the Istituto Gonzaga and in her private studio in Milan, and is an active member of the Italian Watercolorists Association (AIA).
